There are many events scheduled this year and it takes a lot of time and effort to make the boating season enjoyable for everyone. Please remember that work details begin at 8:00 a.m. and are considered "all hands on deck." Not only must you attend them to fulfill your work hour requirement, you should do so out of respect for those members who do most of the work. If, for some reason, you cannot attend enough work details please be proactive and contact Mike Suhay. It is important that you contact him during the boating season so arrangements can be made because he cannot help you in December. Volunteers are needed to help out with the various events scheduled throughout the year. Preparations for Commissioning Day, for the Clam Bake in August, and for Decommissioning Day begin at 8:00 a.m. The Hot Pie breakfast in June is run by John Klapkowski. This charitable event is run by OBCC to fund the Hot Pie Memorial Scholarship. Please contact John to help out for this event. Toys For Tots in December is organized with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves by Mike and Pat Scarduzio. For other events please contact Kristen Moran who chairs the Entertainment Committee. Working members must attend at least three general membership meetings to retain voting rights at the annual meeting in October. Here's to another safe and enjoyable boating season!
